Live 145.13 Repeater Stream

Did you know that you can listen to the W1GLO 2 meter repeater live through your computer's streaming audio program? If you are away from home, on business, vacation, or aren't near your own computer loaded with Echolink to hear or talk on the repeater, you can still keep up with the Sunday night net or communication on the repeater from where ever you are with any computer connected to the Internet. Clicking the link below will automatically download a small information file which will then open your streaming program. (ie: iTunes, Winamp, WIn Media Player or whatever you have that plays streaming audio content) There is a 5-10 second delay inherent in the path that the audio must take to get from the repeater to the upload computer, through the Internet to the streaming server and then back down to you again. This is actually a good thing in that it can give you the opportunity to throw out your callsign onto the repeater and hear yourself come back to see how you are hitting it. :-)

The CAARA live repeater stream is uploaded locally through a Mac G4 running Nicecast via cablemodem into Darwin Streaming Server on one of the Pikefish Web Hosting Mac servers in the datacenter. If for some reason you can't grab a stream let me know. Sometimes I have to give the old 10 year old G4 uploading the audio to the server a kick. Let me hear 145.13!

Questions or problems? Can't grab a stream? Drop a note to the webmaster here.

The CAARA clubnet (aka CAARAnet) is also available and accessible via Echolink. W1GLO-R will connect you to our Cape Ann repeater on 145.130 MHz.
